Please contact your reseller of the script and ask him to generate your LK for you. IMPORTANT: The LK for TWSC Affiliate Lite v3.02 Build 008 is case-sensitive. A LK generated for http://www.domain.com will not be valid for http://domain.com (without the www). If you want to install the script into a sub-directory, then you must ask for a LK which was generated for that specific sub-directory. ==================== 2. IMPORTANT NOTES: =================== The webpages on which you'd like to use TWSC Affiliate Lite should all be able to execute PHP scripts. A normal .htm or .html webpage can not execute PHP scripts. You have two options: i) Rename all your files with a .php file extension - or; ii) Add a MIME type via your CPanel (hosting account)that enable .htm or .html pages to execute PHP scripts. In this case you do not need to rename all your webpages with a .php file extension. a) If you have CPanel then login, - Go to MIME TYPES - Enter: application/x-httpd-php in the first field box - Enter: .htm .html in the second field box - Click the Add button b) If you do not have CPanel then contact your hosting service provider for assistance. ========================= 4. Upgrading from v3.01 : ========================= It is recommended you delete all your previous files. You can leave the "affiliates" directory in place with all affiliate files in it. Upload all other files as described below. Run an email to your affiliates (using the Mailing List Manager) and ask them to update their banner code via their admin areas (http://www.yoursite.com/aff_login.php) Filenames have changed! ================= 6. INSTALLATION : ================= It is recommended you visit the following URL for an automated installation of the script onto your server: http://www.twsc-affiliate-lite.com/install/index.php FIRST - CHMOD YOUR ROOT/MAIN DIRECTORY TO 711 - ON SOME SERVERS THIS WOULD BE YOUR public_html or httpdocs DIRECTORY. If you used the OIS (Online Installer Service) at http://www.twsc-affiliate-lite.com/install/index.php which is the INSTALLER and FILE PERMISSION SETTER, then go to .18 below and skip all the other steps. If you used the INSTALLER only then CHMOD the files and directories - see 4, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 15 and 16 if you used the installer, or start at .1 below if you installed using the ZIP file. Follow these steps to install the script onto your server: 1. Unzip your copy of TWSC Affiliate Lite v3.02 onto your hard drive. 2. Use FTP software (like WS_FTP of CUTE_FTP) to upload your files to your server. 3. FTP into your public_html (MAIN) directory. 4. Create the following directories under public_html and CHMOD (change file permissions) them to 777 (or 755 on some servers) Start CHMODing files with 777 and if that give problems then use 755 affadmin (777) affcgi (777) affiliates (777) affinc (777) afflib (777) images 5. Log into your TWSC Affiliate Lite v3.02 admin area by going to: http://www.yoursite.com/affadmin Your password is : affadmin IMPORTANT! If you change the "affadmin" password in CONFIGURATION then log out, close your browser, open a new browser and login with your new password. Your TWSC Affiliate Lite v3.02 has not been activated yet! Please read on ...! 19. First we have to check your file permission settings and that you have uploaded the directories where they should be - 19.1 Click the SETUP tab (top left) in admin area. 19.2 Click the "Check your file permission settings" link. 19.3 If every file is OK then proceed with 20 below... 19.4 Otherwise CHMOD Error files to 777 or 755 You can use the File Permission Setter at http://www.twsc-affiliate-lite.com/install/index.php NOTE: When CHMODing to 755 Error messages will still display. 20. Click the SETUP tab in admin. 21. Click the "Script Configuration" link. 22. You have to accept the user agreement to activate your copy of TWSC Affiliate Lite v3.02 23. Enter your License Information EXACTLY as you have received them in the email from TWSC.biz or your registered reseller. 24. Hit the "I have read the terms ...." button (after you have read the agreement) 25. Click the "Configuration" button on the left of the page to start with the configuration of your TWSC Affiliate Lite v3.02 26. Every page do have HELP files. Click the ? buttons for HELP. ============================ 7. HOW DOES THE SCRIPT WORK? ============================ TWSC Affiliate Lite works with cookies. Cookies are pieces of information stored on a computer by a script like TWSC Affiliate Lite. With TWSC Affiliate Lite, the cookie value is the referring affiliate ID number. From there we can perform various tasks and operations. The cookie name is threferrer (for programmers) The process in short: * A visitor signs up on your website and become your affiliate. * TWSC Affiliate Lite issue him HTML code. * Code is copied and pasted onto the affiliates website by the affiliate. * A visitor to the affiliate website clicks on your banner (or text link). * This visitor is forwarded to your site. * He enters your site through a cookie-setter page. * A cookie is set on his computer and the referred visitor browse your site. * He makes a purchase and pay through PayPal. * The transaction is processed by PayPal. * Transaction variables is posted to TWSC Affiliate Lite. * Affiliate profile is updated with transaction details. =================== 8.
